Orange Grisette - Amanita crocea
A large mushroom up to 100mm across; orange cap with a paler striate edge, white stipe with snakeskin pattern, and volva at stem-base; as with all grisettes there is no ring. Occasionally, paler specimens are found.
Tawny Grisette is more subdued in colour, and is smaller

July to October.
Occasional but widespread in Britain.
Occasional and local in Leicestershire and Rutland.
