Liopterus haemorrhoidalis
6.5 to 8 mm. This is a reddish-brown predaceous diving beetle with distinctive eyes.

Slow moving streams, wet ditches and debris strewn ponds.
Although the species may be encountered at any time of the year the peak period is between April and October.
Widespread in England, Wales and southwest Scotland.
Occasional in Leicestershire & Rutland.
